“My wife comes from Besançon, my mother was French, and I discovered that Swiss watchmaking had somewhat destroyed French watchmaking, so I’m taking advantage of the end of my career to rebalance things. »

The idea of this partnership had germinated at the end 2017 in the mind of the watchmaker Julien Humbert-Droz, representative of the 4th

generation of the company Réparalux, when a sales representative from La Joux-Perret came to offer him his new automatic movement G-110, a three-hand caliber with a power reserve of 85 hours.

Drawers soon to be empty

Réparalux still achieves 68 % of its turnover with the after-sales service of major brands Swiss brands as well as the assembly of French brands, and the rest with Humbert-Droz, its own brand launched in 2017

. Watches designed around vintage movements drawn from its stocks.

But its drawers will soon be empty, hence this interest in La Joux-Perret movements “with a very interesting price-quality ratio”, assures Julien Humbert-Droz, who then went there with the audacity. “I said I was in, but only if I could set up the movement in France. »

The enthusiasm of Alain Marhic – creator of March LA. B and customer of Réparalux, ready to equip all its models with this Franco-Swiss movement – had finished convincing the boss of La Joux-Perret. The Utinam brand should follow.

End 2021, a Swiss technician came to train those of Besançon. Réparalux, which had to put partial unemployment on employees during confinement, has just hired a new watchmaker and is investing 68.000 euros in the tools necessary for this new activity.
