The ‘little’ San Marino and the ‘huge’ India paired: a silver and a bronze in the medal table

34 thousand inhabitants on one side, almost 1 billion and 400 millions on the other. A gigantic demographic difference between the Republic of San Marino and India, the second most populous state in the world. A difference that, however, has no effect on the Tokyo medal table 2020: the two States, in fact, are paired in the 63 th place in the medal table with a silver and a bronze each. San Marino has built its Olympic fortunes on the clay pigeon shooting and aiming of Alessandra Perilli, winner of the individual bronze and team silver medals paired with Gian Marco Berti. For India, on the other hand, a silver in weightlifting and a bronze in women’s badminton.
