Cash and repair, Makidoo or even Majescom are pure digital Loco products. Created in 2014 by the agglomeration of La Roche-sur-Yon to support and federate digital entrepreneurs, this equipment is a victim of its own success. Cramped on 800 m2, the Digital Loco has just completed its expansion for an investment of 3.8 million euros, financed by the agglomeration, the department Vendée and the Pays de la Loire region. The project was initially costed at 2.9 million euros, but surprises that occurred during the digging of the car park and the possibility of a future extension upstairs increased the bill.
In total, the new building which adjoins the first, offers 1.270 additional m2 to accommodate entrepreneurs in the sector, but not only. “In addition to its role as a facilitator and propellant, the Digital Loco is a place of life and exchange, a benchmark for entrepreneurs who have succeeded in creating a digital ecosystem in the station district,” says Nathalie Gosselin. , deputy mayor of La Roche-sur-Yon in charge of digital.
Fablab, coworking and daily office rental
The digital Loco is a versatile tool with an incubator and a business hotel. In the first, new entrepreneurs benefit from personalized support for three years to launch their activity. The second gives them time to take flight. In total, 10 offices are now available to entrepreneurs, against 13 previously. Among the resident companies, Zelive, live sports application; Weprotect, which specializes in electromagnetic pollution control, will soon be joined by Sparwan and Vega services. 10 places are still available.
The digital Loco also hosts an associative Fablab to develop parts and prototypes. It is also a meeting place for companies and associations. La Loco has rooms adapted to all formats, up to 27 people. It offers new coworking spaces and individual offices available by the hour, as well as a business address service. “The Covid has shaken up our ways of working and professional nomadism has developed”, indicates the deputy mayor. Delivered in mid-November just in time to host Innovation Week 2021, the building will be officially inaugurated in May 2022.
