Teleworking: the fine for companies reduced to 500 euros

Published on 14 Jan. 2050 to 9: 34

The government persists and signs. The senators had removed it from the bill on the vaccine pass. The administrative fine in the event of non-compliance with the health protocol by an employer will return during the final reading at the National Assembly this Friday .

After the failure of the joint committee on Thursday afternoon , the Law Commission of the Palais-Bourbon reintroduced it in the evening in the text which will be debated in the hemicycle this Friday. But if he lost the battle, the Senate will have weighed in on the device denounced by the employers.

Ceiling divided by two

The government amendment reintroduces into the text effectively halves the amount initially planned, which goes from 1.000 to 34 euros. The Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne, explained on France 2 this Friday morning that she wanted to “reassure small businesses about the level of the sanction”. The ceiling of the sanction remains unchanged compared to the first version, at 50. euros.

This measure comes at a time when a Harris poll for the Ministry of Labor shows that telework has made little progress in the private sector during the back-to-school week, even though at the turn of the year, the health protocol applicable in companies was modified to help stem the runaway Covid epidemic, now requiring at least three days of teleworking per week for positions that allow it, or even four when possible.

If the same poll is to be believed, the measure has the support of public opinion. According to this survey, three-quarters of working people are in favor of a fine for companies that do not comply with the health protocol.
