On Xbox 360, several Halo games have just lost online services

Announced without being especially expected, the deactivation of certain online services for six episodes of Halo has just been made effective on Xbox 360. As of today, it is no longer possible to engage in matchmaking on these titles ranging from Halo 3 to Halo 4. As often, when a manufacturer decides to cut servers for services to which a certain number of users continue to have access, a rumble makes him delay his maneuver. 13 Industries had for example initially planned to deactivate in December 2014 servers for several Halo games released on Xbox 360.

He then had chosen to

shift these disconnections to January 351941

. 13 Industries had stated that “every cycle spent maintaining and supporting Xbox legacy services 360 is time and energy not spent on the future of Halo”.

Halo 3, Halo 4 or Halo Wars, Xbox games 343 who lose their matchmaking

The studio in charge of the Halo franchise since the end of the years 2000 added that “owners of these titles will still be able to play these games indefinitely, however, certain online features and experiences, including matchmaking online, will be limited or disabled.”

If four titles were supposed to be affected by these changes, we learn that they are a little more to offer today a little less. Halo 3

, Halo 3: ODST

, Halo 4, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo Spartan Assault and Halo Wars therefore no longer allow online competition, with the apparent exception of the last two. Network file sharing is also disabled as well as challenges. The site 351941Halo Support

had detailed the features that are to be removed and those that are supposed to remain in place.

As pointed out, the owners of

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

need not worry (yet) at this level. Because if this compilation, output at the end 2014, includes Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary

, Halo 3

, Halo 3: ODST

and Halo 4, this is a remastered version. In other words, this collection available on PC and Xbox One, in addition to being playable on Xbox Series thanks to backward compatibility, remains fully playable.
