Galaxy S21: Samsung plans to launch the new version of its phone in January 2021. Less than a year after its launch and after the arrival of the brand new Galaxy Note20, Samsung has everything ready to launch the Galaxy S21 in January 2021, according to various rumors posted on the Internet.

Next Galaxy Phone 2021 Design
- S20: 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9mm, 172g
- S21+: 161.55 x 75.6 x 7.86mm, 202g
- IP68 waterproofing
There’s a couple of big design changes for the Galaxy S21 models. The most noticable thing is the shift from curved edges to the display on previous Galaxy S models, to a flat display, giving a slightly different look to the front of this phone. Around the back of the phone, you’ll find that the camera housing is now integrated with teh frame, so it’s more of a feature on the back.
Otherwise, much of the design sticks to the familiar from previous Galaxy S phones, with waterproofing to protect the devices to an IP68 level. There’s no 3.5mm headphone socket, but the stereo speakers remain.

Next Galaxy Phone 2021 Samsung Galaxy S21: January 14, 2021
In recent years, Samsung has preferred to hold its own events at its Unpacked event to announce the new flagships of the S series in February, but this year we are going to see the Galaxy S21 series a little earlier, on January 14, 2020.
The new line is likely to move to the new Snapdragon 888 processor, in the US at least, and we’d be surprised if 5G wasn’t the standard across the line.
The S21 is likely to feature a design evolution rather than a revolution, with the same 120Hz (possibly even 144Hz) displays and tight 108MP cameras that we saw introduced in 2020, which could bring the ToF camera down.
A bigger change will come in wired charging, with the S21 tilted to hit up to 65W.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Honor V40: January 18, 2021
Honor plans to introduce its V40 series on January 18, with at least two new phones.
Rumors point to a high refresh rate 120Hz Full HD + display with a dual-hole front camera setup, a fixed 50 MP RYYB-pixel primary camera, and an impressive 66W wired charging along with wireless charging of 45W.
This could be only for the high-end model, with other V40 devices going down to 90Hz and tweaking the camera specs.
We’re still not sure if Huawei’s Honor sale will affect the chipsets used in the new devices or if they will be compatible with Google’s mobile services.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Xiaomi Redmi 9T and Note 9T: First quarter of 2021
Xiaomi has already introduced the Redmi 9T and Note 9T in Europe, but we are still waiting to find out exactly when we will be able to buy them.
Both phones are fairly inexpensive, with the 9T starting at just € 159, and the Note 9T starting at € 229 – and just € 199 during its launch window.
While the Note 9T is making headlines for offering 5G support at such a low price, the cheaper standard 9T arguably offers stronger specs in another way, with a bigger battery and an extra ultra-wide camera, while costs considerably less.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Xiaomi 11: First quarter of 2021
Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi 11 series in China, but although it is already on sale there, all that is known about the global launch is that it is “coming soon.”
Mi 11 stands out as the company’s first phone with a 2K resolution screen – and it is indeed a very good panel, rated A + by DisplayMate.
It is also the world’s first Snapdragon 888 smartphone, with the promise of spectacular performance.
Other spec highlights include a 120Hz refresh rate, Harman Kardon tuned stereo speakers that allow wireless sharing with two pairs of headphones or two speakers, a 108MP triple lens camera, 55W wired charging. and 50W of wireless charging for the 4,600mAh battery, and an on-screen fingerprint sensor that integrates a heart rate sensor.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Vivo X60: First quarter of 2021
Like the Mi 11, the X60 series is now available in China, but while we know the X60 is coming to Europe we are still waiting to find out exactly when.
The X60 and X60 Pro – there’s a Pro + on the way too – share 120Hz AMOLED displays and the 5nm Samsung Exynos 1080 chipset, along with a 33W load and 48MP main cameras.
The standard phone also includes a 2x zoom and ultra-wide portrait lens, with the Pro launching a 5x zoom periscope lens as well – all developed with support from Zeiss.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Oppo Reno 5: First quarter of 2021
The Oppo Reno 5 series has already been launched in China, but we remain hopeful that the phones will arrive in Europe in early 2021.
Two phones have been announced so far – the Reno 5 and the 5 Pro – with a model 5 Pro + also leaked by the company.
The 5 and 5 Pro are very similar, with 64 MP quad camera setups, 65W load, and AMOLED displays – they only differ in the display (the Pro is slightly larger, and curved) and the chipset (the 5 runs a Snapdragon 765G, the 5 Pro the lesser known MediaTek Dimensity 1000+).
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 20 FE: First Quarter 2021
The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has led many to believe that a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 FE could be on the way as well, perhaps rather than a Galaxy Note 20 Lite. If true, it could come at any time in Q1 2021.
It would be expected to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and an Exynos 8250 (Europe) or Snapdragon 865 (North America) processor, but some have slightly reduced the core memory and storage specs over the standard Note 20.
It is also likely to feature a plastic case to help bring the price down even further, and hopefully some camera improvements will drop off as well.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs OnePlus 9: First Quarter 2021
Like Samsung, OnePlus is also rumored to be rolling out its next flagship a bit earlier, moving from its usual April / May schedule to a March 2021 launch for the OnePlus 9.
You can expect to see a lot of what we saw on the OnePlus 8T – especially the 120Hz display and 65W fast charging – along with updates to the Snapdragon 888, a new camera sensor, and hopefully the introduction of wireless charging in the standard model.
In that sense, we are not sure whether to expect a 9 Pro or not. There was no 8T Pro, but that may mean OnePlus is reducing its ‘Pro’ models to annual events.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Oppo Find X3: First Quarter 2021
Oppo used to treat its zoom Reno phones as its flagship line, but now the Find X series has started to become more important.
If the Find X3 series follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, we could see it arrive sometime around March 2021 with the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset and a big focus on camera, display, and charging specs.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Sony Xperia 1 III: First Quarter 2021
Sony usually announces its latest Xperia flagship in February, so we expect the same to happen with the Xperia 1 III.
Like its predecessor, we hope to focus on camera specs and screen quality, hoping that with a jump to 90 or 120 Hz without losing that 4K resolution.
The leaks so far point to a Snapdragon 888 chip – not a surprise – but beyond that we don’t know too much.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: 2021
Samsung is expected to launch the next generation of its foldable flagship series in fall 2021.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will pick up where the Fold 2 left off, but is rumored to add support for the S Pen stylus, and potentially an invisible auto-off camera inside the phone.
Other rumors point to a more affordable foldable release alongside the Z Fold 3, along with speculation about new form factors that it could be called the Fold Z.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Samsung Galaxy S21 FE: 2021
Just as the S20 was followed by the S20 FE, it is widely expected that the S21 will eventually join the S21 FE – most likely around October if last year’s launch pattern is anything to look out for.
Specification details are scant so far, and there is already disagreement over whether it will have a 60 or 120 Hz display, for example. Still, most agree that the phone will have an AMOLED panel and the latest chips from Exynos and Snapdragon.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Apple iPhone 13: Third quarter 2021
As soon as one iPhone comes out, it’s time to look at the next one, which means we’re already thinking about the iPhone 13 series.
New iPhones usually launch in September, but the iPhone 12 was a bit later in October, we should see the iPhone 13 series in fall 2021 anyway.
We will likely see a range of four phones again, from a Mini to a Pro Max, all powered by a new A15 Bionic processor.
The notch is said to still be there, but smaller, and we hope to eventually see the display itself jump to 120Hz. Storage is rumored to go up to 1TB too, and we’re crossing our fingers for Touch ID to make a comeback as well.
The more that is known, it is rumored that Apple could go completely portless now that it can rely on MagSafe charging, but we think the more likely the change will extend to the iPhone 14 or beyond…
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Google Pixel 6: Third quarter 2021
Google typically launches a new Pixel flagship every fall, so it’s only fitting that the long-awaited Pixel 6 will appear sometime in the fall of 2021.
We don’t know much about what to expect from the phone yet, but a jump to a 120Hz refresh rate sounds plausible, and it’s probably time for Google to update its main camera sensor as well – which hasn’t changed in a few years. to make sure it holds on to your photographic crown.
Other leaks point to a device known as the Pixel XE, but it is not yet clear whether it is a fake, a new phone, or just a codename for the Pixel 6.
Next Galaxy Phone 2021 vs Xiaomi Mi Mix 4: 2021
Xiaomi broke the pace of the Mi Mix series by turning towards the Mi Mix Alpha immersive display concept device, but we are still expecting a suitable Mi Mix 4 to appear sometime in 2021.
We don’t know much about what to expect from the phone yet, but since Xiaomi often uses the Mi Mix line to test its wildest tech, we’re hoping that wraparound screen hits 4, or Xiaomi unveils its first proper foldable phone.
