QUETTA, Pakistan — The Islamic State group claimed duty for an assault on Sunday that killed 11 miners from Pakistan’s minority Shi’ite Hazaras in Baluchistan province.

The assault happened early on Sunday morning within the Mach space of Bolan district round 100 kilometers (62 miles) southeast of Baluchistan’s capital Quetta, killing the miners who had been in a shared residential room close to the coal mine the place they labored, officers stated.
