Holidays: With the Alentour site, local tourism is making its mark.

You are looking for good plans for your next vacation or quite simply a weekend getaway with family or in love? Rather than going to the other side of the world to clear your head, why not support local trade by exploring regional terroirs?

This is the proposal advanced by Alentour.fr , the new internet platform set up by the government to give impetus to tourism proximity.

A QR code to scan

This website intends to connect professionals in leisure activities with tourist accommodation and institutions in the sector in order to offer varied and accessible offers to tourists from France. For visitors, the use is simple. The hotels and partner tourist offices offer to scan a QR code once there or send a clickable SMS in order to access the list complete local leisure activities and book them from your smartphone.

This project obviously surfs on the general craze for made in France, the will of citizens to support the local economy tested by the pandemic , but also the desire to develop eco-responsible tourism by focusing on local discoveries rather than exotic escapades.

Being still in its infancy, Surroundings .fr listed some 1. activities that can be booked through around a hundred hotels, mainly in the Côte d’Azur, during its test launch in July 2021.
