Emmanuel Macron visiting Alsace on Wednesday

A trip, two very different visits for the President of the Republic. Emmanuel Macron is expected Wednesday afternoon in Alsace to present his wishes to the armies in the Oberhoffen camp, near Haguenau (Bas-Rhin), where the 2nd regiment of Hussars and the 54th regiment are based of transmissions.

For these last wishes to the military world of the quinquennium, less than three months before the presidential election, the Head of State will be present on an army base of Earth after going to Brest in January 2021. His speech is scheduled for 19 hours.

Passage through the European Parliament

Emmanuel Macron should take the opportunity to give an overview of the major military challenges, from budgetary issues to intervention in the Sahel, while Paris has embarked on a vast restructuring of Operation Barkhane against a backdrop of strong tensions with the junta in power in Mali.

Previously, the President will go to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, in order to present the main priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. He will also be in the European capital on Monday, to participate in the ceremony in tribute to the President of Parliament, David Sassoli, who died earlier this week.
