Microsoft’s web browser will turn into a real Swiss army knife. Microsoft plans to deploy three new tools there in Edge’s sidebar.
Microsoft is constantly adding new features to its web browser. According to roadmap published on its site, the Redmond company plans to deploy three new tools in its web browser by next August. Edge should thus embark very soon a calculator, a unit converter as well as a module of speed test to test the speed of your Internet connection, three frequently used tools according to Microsoft.
A priori, these tools would already be available in version 105 of Edge Canary, a version of the browser intended for developers. At the time of writing these lines, however, they are not yet available. Microsoft probably preferred to first deploy these tools to a limited group of users, before considering a larger deployment in Edge Canary.
According to Neowinwho was able to access these new tools, Edge includes a world clock, a calculator, a dictionary, a language translator, a unit converter, as well as a speed test.
In recent months, Microsoft has multiplied the new features in Edge to attract new users. A few weeks ago, the American firm formalized the arrival of a VPN (provided by Cloudflare) in its web browser. A few days later, she inaugurated a function to automatically import data from Chrome into her web browser. More recently, Microsoft was testing Drop, a file transfer feature in Edge that builds directly on OneDrive.
