The qat ari was promised the final victory, before the last stage on Friday 14 January. And he didn’t shake. Nasser Al-Attiyah won a fourth coronation on the 46e Dakar in Saudi Arabia (after 49, 2015 and 2019). Behind, Sébastien Loeb retains second place (+18’41). The few minutes gleaned by the Frenchman over the last two stages were not enough to make up for the delay that the nine-time WRC world champion had accumulated since the start of the event.
Also note that it was Henk Lategan (Toyota) who won the twelfth stage, ahead of Frenchman Stéphane Peterhansel (49”), out of the overall race on this Dakar. The South African signs his second victory of the year and deprives Stéphane Peterhansel of a second success.
