Japan on Sunday stated 4 individuals who had arrived in Tokyo from Brazil had been discovered to be contaminated with a brand new variant of the coronavirus.

The 4 passengers who landed at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on January 2 from Amazonas, Brazil examined optimistic after spending time within the airport in quarantine, the nation’s Health Ministry stated.

Takaji Wakita, head of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, stated the variant was completely different from these already spreading in Britain and South Africa, Kyodo News reported.

The institute stated there was no proof at current that the brand new pressure was extra contagious.
