Black lady says group of Trump supporters attacked her following L.A. rally

A Black lady in California stated a gaggle of practically 40 pro-Trump demonstrators attacked her and known as her the n-word following a rally in downtown Los Angeles.

Police stated they’re investigating the incident as a hate crime after talking with the lady.

“The woman has been identified & interviewed by the LAPD. Based on her statements & other evidence, a hate crime/battery report was taken,” the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a statement on Twitter.

The lady, Berlinda, 25, stated she was strolling when she noticed the big group on Wednesday, in line with NBC Los Angeles, which famous that she requested that her final title not be used. Earlier within the day, a protest was held, with many demonstrators carrying “Stop the Steal” indicators.

Berlinda stated that a number of folks within the group advised her to take her face masks off. She advised NBC Los Angeles that the group began following her after she flipped them off.

“A bunch of women and men started yelling, ‘take off your mask, don’t wear a mask,'” she stated, telling the outlet that she requested one man within the group to depart her alone. “And that’s when the guy went and took his hand, clawed me in the face. And then just smacked my phone in my face.”

Berlinda stated others shoved her and he or she was known as a racial slur.

The assault was captured by photographer Raquel Natalicchio, 29. She advised NBC News in an interview Friday that she noticed Berlinda strolling by herself and heard the protesters heckling her and asking if she voted for President Donald Trump. It is unclear whether or not all these proven in Natalicchio’s photographs had been concerned within the alleged assault.

Berlinda advised them no and flipped them off as she saved strolling, Natalicchio stated.

“They kept kind of heckling her for that, and she told them to put on a mask,” Natalicchio stated, noting that many individuals who attended the rally didn’t have a face masks on. “As soon as she told them to put a mask on, they swarmed her and circled her and started pushing her around amongst them, and trying to intimidate her.”

Natalicchio stated one lady snatched Berlinda’s hair extensions out “and began assaulting her.” Berlinda tried to defend herself and a number of other males began hitting her with steel flag poles, in line with Natalicchio. The lady was additionally believed to be pepper-sprayed within the eyes.
