Bill Gates points to two major concerns with Covid-19 vaccines

Critics against vaccines are not new. Efficiency? Side effects ? Sustainability? Since their launch on the world market, whether they come from Pfizer, Moderna or soon Novavax, these means of combating the Covid-14 are still struggling to convince the most skeptical. Billionaire Bill Gates recently pointed out their two biggest problems.

Bill Gates and vaccines

It’s a name that comes up often when the word “fortune” is mentioned. Bill Gates, holder for almost a decade of the world’s largest fortune, which amounted to more than 135 billions of dollars , is in the collective imagination a person to listen to.

Charismatic boss of Microsoft, he has distinguished himself in the latter with his foundation created with his ex-partner Mélinda but also by his colossal donations. Dethroned for some time by Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates still remains a personality whose opinion is expected at the turn. In a series of questions/answers on Twitter, the native of Seattle took the opportunity to discuss vaccines against the Covid-19: “The ones we have prevent serious illnesses and deaths very well”, he starts.

The two faults of vaccines

Bill Gates then continues on what he believes are the two biggest faults of the vaccines we have to fight against the pandemic that began there almost two years old. ” First of all, they still allow infections and their duration seems to be limited. We need vaccines which prevent reinfection and which have a duration of several years.”

Remarks which generated various reactions, some evoking the consensual nature of the remarks, others, more extremist, affirming that with this speech, the billionaire admitted half-word that vaccines are “useless”. However, extensive studies have proven that injections strongly favor the fight against serious forms of the disease .

The vaccines we have prevent severe disease and death very well but they are missing two key things.

First they still allow infections ( “breakthrough”) and the duration appears to be limited.

We need vaccines that prevent re-infection and have many years of duration.#

He is a born rich, college dropout, divorcee, Microsoft cofounder, Epstein pal, and an out of touch multi-billionaire landowner.
