Australian Open: Serbian president accuses Australian PM of 'mistreating' Djokovic

Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Serbia, got angry with the Australian Prime Minister, saying that he was “mistreating Novak Djokovic, whose visa has again been refused.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic lambasted the Australian Prime Minister on Friday, saying the country’s authorities were “mistreating” the tennis star Novak Djokovic after the authorities revoked his visa for the second time. “Why are you mistreating him, why are you attacking not only him, but also his family and whole nation”, Vucic protested on Instagram.

The Serbian president’s comments come hours after Australia again canceled the world number 1’s visa, threatening him of a return on Saturday in detention, where he has already spent several days after entering Australia without respecting the obligation to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
